The tape measure drawings were concieved with the archictectural structure of the famed Babylonian tower in mind . I enjoy working with simple ideas which
engender wider, profounder interpretations creating their own internal logic.
As a child I was always facinated by the way imagination could transform everyday objects. I recall playing with yellow tape measures as child whilst sitting under
my mothers sewing table , creating towers by pushing up the concentric band with my index finger.
This series of drawings couples those recollections with the precariousness of human vanity depicted in the biblical story of the babylon tower.
