This work combines a large canvas depicting the 72 names of G_d written and painted in Aramaic from Kabbalistic sources , and a large hand made
ceramic bowl .
The simple bowl is lit from above with a single light bulb alternating between light and dark and evoking the idea of shevirat ha-kelim, a kabbalistic
explanation of the creation of the universe and the concept of oneness and separation . On another , level the about giving and receiving …or receiving
to bestow as opposed to receiving for purely egoistic ends.
The task for each human souls is to repair through each ones personal (tikkun) the essential oneness of the vessel or collective soul and ultimately
reunite heaven and earth , G_d and humanity.
